Motion marks
Before the introduction of the new types of trademarks, only non-moving static marks were registrable. However, now “motion marks” are added to the scope of registrable trademarks.
The term “Motion mark” means a mark consisting of letters, devices or other elements which are changeable with the passage of time.
For example, a registrable motion mark may constitute letters or devices which are changeable on the display of a television or computer. Features of this kind of mark are given below.
The following figures of 5 boxes with numbers at their bottom right show the mark is moving in the order of those numbers. This example shows a flying-off motion of a cute “baby chick”.
